Matateu

The name of this snack bar in the stadium of football club Belenenses pays homage to its late, great star Matateu. It is worth slogging uphill from Belém for, to try such delicacies as pataniscas de bacalhau (cod fritters), ovos com farinheira (eggs with garlicky flour sausage) or mushrooms with cured ham. You can eat well here for a final result of less than €15.
