Meninos do Rio

This dockside terrace is often thick with betos (Portuguese posh kids), but the palm trees and balmy riverside location are a saving grace. Indoors, the restaurant serves soups, salads, hamburgers and a few Portuguese standards (it also has a children's menu). Upstairs, the more interesting Sushi Rio (21 322 0070; closed Mon, Sun dinner) serves regular and fusion sushi daily until around midnight, and has enviable river views and a balcony - open all year, thanks to heaters.
