Established in the 1990s, Nova Ásia is located across the street from the Alvalade shopping centre. The look is more Portuguese than Chinese, some dishes have a Portugal connection (for instance, the black pork ravioli) and even the tables are set with forks and knives and not chopsticks. But there is still plenty of Chinese fare here: kung pao chicken, sautéed prawns with asparagus, and any of the Peking ducks – which come in three versions, lacquered, roast or special.
Time Out tips:
– The duck recipes have made the restaurant's reputation.
– All ingredients are of above-average quality.
– It is so westernized that it even has a Haagen-Dazs list.
