Olivier da Costa currently owns almost two handfuls of restaurants in Portugal, with a reach extending to Costa da Caparica, Cascais and the Algarve, in partnerships. But his crown jewel, and his best, continues to be Olivier Avenida, with a series of specialities that he accurately describes as luxury dishes. These include kobe “picanha” strip steaks, fresh foie gras with caramelized apple or Parmesan linguine and ground black truffles. On Sundays (but not in summertime), it offers one of the city's finest brunches (€25).
Time Out tips:
– To give your wallet some relief, try the €18 lunch menu.
– In 2016 it completed its 20th anniversary – congratulations.
– You can also order some Japanese dishes, sent from its sister-restaurant Yakuza.
