It is a very fine house with a wonderful collection of harpsichords & other early keyboards, sometimes used in chamber concerts, but the greatest pleasure for me is the garden - part kitchen garden, part English formal ) an absolute haven !
Magic place, another world. Sometimes you go there and there are people playing the harpsichord. YOu feel like you've stepped back in time. Beautiful garden too.
The walk up from the tube via lunch at the Holly Bush pub is charming. The drift through Fenton House with it's distant views over London is a joy. The gardens are wimsicle. The second visit is better than the first.
