If your idea of gay life was shaped by TV’s Queer as Folk, then Rupert Street is the bar for you. It’s a little bit of Manchester’s Canal Street in the heart of London’s Soho. Still trapped in the ’90s, the decor is all industrial, boilerroom chic, with glass wraparound windows and a large mirror at the back. The staff are beefy and brisk and the clientele is more smartly dressed than average. Popular with the after-work crowd, it gets even busier later on – and also very cruisey.

This once used to be the trendy bar where the smarty dressed gays of London gathered to quaff champagne. Today it's filled with a diverse mix of people, still very cruisey and can get really loud. Cocktail happy hour and the champagne specials make for a decent afternoon out but be warned it can get really crowded. Overall a great little boozer on the heart of a dying gay village.

Place to go out after work. Much more of a smarter place to go if that is your thing. Perhaps best to don a suit before going in. The staff work quickly and can come across frosty at times. But a nice enough bar to go for a drink in.

R U D E staff. We are an heterosexual couple, so when we been there the staff pretended not to see us at the bar. We waited for ordering and people that came after us were served first. After 20 minutes they served the last customer and they just said "We are closed". We never had any discrimination, they have instead. WE WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

Been a while since I've been in here and what a transformation! Not only have they got new furniture and updated the bar decor, the toilets have been transformed! Wow!

possibly the rudest staff on the whole of the gay scene. Toilets stink and are minging !! Not cheap either..... best avoided
