Birmingham Royal Ballet

Two mixed programmes from Birmingham Royal Ballet. The first features a new work by American choreographer Jessica Lang, David Bintley's 'Take Five', set to Dave Brubeck, and Hans Van Manen's 'Grösse Fuge', a slightly dated piece of sexual politics with beefcake male dancers stripping down to their trunks. The second programme has Frederick Ashton's 'The Dream', an Olympic-inspired piece by Bintley and a witty take on the 1920s by Broadway choreographer Joe Layton.
