This central London branch of the slick Turkish barber chain offers the usual drop-in cuts, wet shaves and hot towels, but you can also book in to the 'By Appointment Only Lounge' for something a little more special. Decorated with vintage medical equipment to reflect the area's background, the Mortimer Street boasts a bar designed by Looking Glass Cocktail Club and offers the 'Cut a Dash with Ted' treatment – essentially the barbershop full works.
The barbers here mean business; there's no idle nattering about holiday plans as they expertly shape beards and style your hair into traditional but adaptable styles. What really gives the booked-in treatments the edge (pun intended) is the ear hair burning and the hot towel treatment. There aren't that many places in London you can have your fuzz removed with fire, after all. The hour-long session is a hefty £75, so you need to care more about your look than your bank statement, but at the end of it you'll look a million bucks, so what goes around comes around.
Vintage medical paraphernalia line the shelves, while our barbers rejuvenate clients with a menu of bespoke grooming treatments designed to invigorate hard working city souls. It was only right that Ted’s flagship Grooming Room would feature the exclusive By Appointment Only Lounge.Furnished with a bar by Looking Glass Cocktail Club, By Appointment Only is the venue of choice for gentlemen seeking a luxurious service beyond the razor’s edge. Just what the doctor ordered.

IF YOU ENJOY HAVING YOUR HAIR CUT WHILST THE BARBER IS TALKING TO THE OTHER BARBERS IN A LOUD VOICE IN TURKISH..THEN THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU...NOT AN ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE..I WOULDN'T GO HERE AGAIN..!!!
Absolute amateurs and are a disgrace to stylists. The barber completely disregarded my instructions and ended up cutting my hair as they saw fit, which is a 60 year-old haircut for a 24 year old. The complete haircut took him less than 10 minutes to finish. I would've been better off if I had my neighbour cut my hair for me. Wouldn't pay more than two pounds for their work. Rip off...
I specifically asked the barber if he knows how to handle eyebrow length hair, and he hesitantly said yes. He absolutely showed ZERO technique in cutting my hair. Never coming back here again.
