Robert Glasper Experiment/Bilal

Mixing his fluent technique – which can sound a little Brad Mehldau-ish at times – with a peerless understanding of fractured hip-hop rhythms a la his late, great mentor J Dilla, pianist Glasper is one of a kind. Back for his biggest London show to date, he's joined by his killer electric Experiment band that mashes Headhunters style fusion with outrageous hip hop grooves. The stellar band includes drummer Mark Colenberg, sax man Casey Benjamin, and the explosive soul jazz vocals of Bilal, on songs from Glasper's superb new Blue Note LP 'Black Radio'.
