Tucked away at the wrong end of Chelsea, this intimate jazz club is a badly kept secret. Catering to a diverse crowd of serious jazz types and partygoers in search of late-night nibbles and sounds, the 606 Club has been part of London's musical landscape since 1976. One of the busiest jazz clubs in Europe it has live music seven nights a week. The 606 Club's stage is almost exclusively limited to British jazz musicians, which might sound like a recipe for commercial suicide, but the longevity of this 150-capacity club speaks volumes. There's no stand-alone entry fee: instead, the bands are funded from a music charge that's added to your bill at the end of the night. Alcohol can only be served with food.

Long live 606 club and its superb jazz selection, which always allow for great quality in music in a very intimate (although not entirely well taken care of) setting. AThe food is not memorable, but they do offer dinner and a show, as well as a selection of drinks and wines that can be a challenge to get with the very closely knit table configuration, and short staff. It all explodes in feeling and talent when the attractions come on to the stage, and grace you with sometimes over 2 hours of great music. Well worth to visit with parents, a date and, why not, that good friend that knows his jazzy stuff.

A literal hole in the wall, 606 makes you feel like you've walked into an old speakeasy but aren't only there for the alcohol but rather the show. I was lucky enough to experience the space for a charity gig, where you could either have a delectable 3 course meal or simply grab a drink and some cake at the bar.

Once the music actually started we were surprised by the amazing acoustics and the quirky singers. With such a small stage, so close to the crowd, you need to have double the confidence when performing.

By the end of their set, we felt like close friends listening to our friend play in their living room. It was definitely an intimate affair.

I want to go back just to hear another amazing act play in such a cool space.

I love the 606 club, my fiancé took me there as a surprise one valentine's night and we had such a great evening. The atmosphere and the music was amazing. One of those places that makes London so special.
