I booked my birthday party at Gigalum and just wanted to say a massive thank you to the staff there. Can't believe they suprised me me a personalise birthday cake!! And then looked after us all night.

I was a bit worried it'd be too loud for some of my friends but it was a nice relaxing atmosphere when we arrived, a kinda house party feel. Then the DJs got the place jumping later on, the staff were even dancing on the bar at one point!

I'm torn about how I feel about Gigalum. At the heart of it all, it's a pretty good venue. There is plenty of seats under umbrellas outside to chat and drink, with heaters to get you through the winter evenings. Drinks aren't too expensive, it's always busy so there's always a good atmosphere... but there's something about this place which is just a bit terrible. I can't put my finger on it... but it always feels like a bad idea! Maybe the fact that it is always rammed on a Sunday evening makes me sceptical to it... are these students who don't have to be at work for 9am the next day, or just people who DGAF? Maybe i'm bitter that people want to have fun on a Sunday rather than watch the Strictly results show while eating left over roast potatoes on the sofa... It's just a bit too raucous for my liking.

Was at Gigalum recently on a Sunday afternoon with a few friends, we took full advantage of the 241 cocktails we enjoyed a really tasty Sunday Roast, only to only find us all stumbling out of there at 11pm after the cool chilled bar turned into a wicked party with DJs playing uplifting house and all the old classics, was so much fun, such laughs, great staff and atmosphere, If I didnt have work on Monday's Id be there every Sunday!

Had a really enjoyable Sunday evening there this weekend. The music was fantastic, the place was heaving, the staff were friendly and helpful and the whole experience was fantastic. Have been there before for food and cocktails and have to say i was pleasantly surprised at how good it all was. The food was top standard and the cocktails were the best I have had in London. Definitely going to go back again soon and highly recommend to anyone thinking of popping along.

Food: Poor but cheap(ish) Service: Shocking I went to Gigalum on a quiet Thursday evening - if you enjoy being ignored by staff, and spending the best part of an hour waiting for any food to appear then this is the place for you. There’s no point needlessly ranting on, but a simple 'thank you' and bit of eye contact when you've just paid for your meal would go a long way. Instead, my card and receipt were thrown back at me as the waitress nattered with her mates. I'm no well-to-do toff, but there's no excuse for ignorance. Don't waste your time by visiting this place - I won't again. Rik
