The Highgate Choral Society directed by Ronald Corp, with Grace Davidson (soprano) and organist Daniel Moult. An evening of secular and sacred choral and organ music in an eclectic programme of music that both celebrates Liszt's bicentenary as well as paying homage to the great English choral tradition. Handel's 'Zadok the Priest'; 'My heart is inditing'; 'Let the bright seraphim'; 'Eternal source of light'; 'How beautiful are the feet'; Parry's 'I was Glad'; Liszt's 'Missa Choralis'; Fantasia and fugue on B-A-C-H; ('Excelsior'); Byrd's 'Ave Verum Corpus'; 'Elegy for himself'; and Dyson's 'Hierusalem'. (Note: at 6.50pm, a free pre- performance talk by Ronald Corp.)
