The Gesualdo Consort directed by Gerald Place, and a narrator, present a 400th-anniversary concert celebrating the music of Carlo Gesualdo, interweaving a bizarre life-story and music of extraordinary imagination. With sequences from the Italia - Prize-winning film ‘Death for Five Voices’ by Werner Herzog.

The programme also features music and comments of twentieth-century composers inspired by Gesualdo: Warlock, Maxwell Davies and Stravinsky.
