Please note, Fish Club is now closed. Time Out Food & Drink Editors, February 2017.
Though your waistband might complain, your conscience need not as all the fish at this great little London chippy are sustainably sourced, with coley topping the bill. And that ethical alternative to haddock and cod is popular for good reason: it more than passed muster, with flaky and tender flesh beneath a perfect honey-coloured batter. The twice-fried chips were good too: chunky yet crisp.
Perhaps the chilli and garlic sauce on our whole bream was a little overpowering, but only because the fish beneath was delicately fresh, and in no need of adornment. Potted crab, smoked sprats and meat pies take their place on the menu alongside the likes of beetroot salad, beer-battered halloumi and sweet-potato chips, making for an interesting mix of the modern and the retro. Only the unsubtle aquarium-style decor misses the mark – but you’ll be enjoying your fish too much to notice.

Went there after hearing everyone raving about it. I figured those people must be the ones who have never been to a seaside town and tried the fish and chips there. Incredibly overpriced is an understatement. Shoved it down somehow and never going back. It's not even real cod.
This place is amazing! Quality fresh Fish & chips with homemade bits on the side. It was so good I asked them to cater for my wedding. They made the wedding! See you guys soon for my next fish and chip fix...
Not brilliant, but then i'm a bit of a fish snob being a Cornishman. Expensive, pathetic portion sizes and extremely wet staff. Try elsewhere.
Have just had a thoroughly disappointing meal from Fish Club. Infact I would go so far as to say it is the worst fish and chips I have ever had. The chips were massively over cooked and the fish grey in colour, dry and flavourless to taste. And don't get me started on the batter...absolutely awful. The only reason I can give one star rating is the mushy peas. V disappointing given my previous experience (although this was 2 years ago) and the price charged. Would highly reccomend never visiting.
Lovely food, great fun, everything spot on but they need to turn on the heating. Until they do, bring thermals and a jumper.
Went here after hearing good things about this place. Ordered the fish and chips and though the food seems good quality it was very oily. Might have been an off day but will be a little while before we go here again.
This place is amazing. The best fish and chips I've ever eaten sober served in a very casual, non-pretentious environment. The food does all the talking. Well worth the 8-10 minute walk up the hill.
Good variety of sustainable fish and very well made. Batter was very light and super crispy. Sweet potato chips was a great accompaniment. 10 out of 10.
