This calm spot is nicely decorated in cool white and natural wood; service is pleasant and the menu extensive and exciting. We chose to share the hot and cold meze at £7.50 per person, which was lovely and seemingly generous – taramosaláta, tahini, houmous, delicious tzatzíki, singingly fresh tabouleh, halloumi, loukánika, crab (actually crab stick) salad and pantzarosaláta (dressed beetroot). It came at a cost, however, as we’d been served two portions rather than one to share. Main courses, alas, weren’t quite to the same standard. Calf’s liver arrived with grilled tomatoes and chips, plus a great thick slice of almost raw onion. The liver was generous and well-cooked, but had none of the fresh herbs so prevalent in the meze. Mixed soúvla (chicken and lamb grill) came with more tzatzíki and tabouleh, but neither meat had been graced with any flavouring, and the lamb was dry and tasteless. It seemed as if there were two different cooks in the kitchen.

Went to Retsina on a friends recommendation and was not disappointed. For a local it was very busy but the food was excellent "Grilled seabass was stunning"" the service was a little rushed but still excellent. I'll be coming back and would recommend this place if your looking for a quality greek meal.
Been looking for a fantastic Greek restaurant to dine at for a long time, Finally found it. Lovely fresh food, Good service, Relaxed modern neutral decor, Definitely a cut above the rest of London's greek establishments. Highly recommended, I know I'll be visiting again.
Put simply this restaurant serves fresh quality produce at a reasonable price with good service. I don't know what experience these reviewers have had but all I have to say is drive past most nights of the week and especially on the week end and watch its packed out consistently with very happy customers, every restaurant can have a bad night, I should know I have spend many a bad night in 3 star michelin establishments but overall I have gone back again and again and judged a restaurant in an informed and sensible way, It seems that the unhappy shout the loudest and the happy don't say anything - after all why would they - they are happy and I can say for sure the vast majority of the 250 covers retsina completes on a saturday are happy to, I know I'm one of them.
I loved this restaurant. i had the meat meze and it was the best I have ever (INCLUDING GREECE AND CYPRUS) and the cook was so lovely, she came out to talk to us as we told the waiter that we had seen her on F word! I can't wait to go again!
They dont deserve even a 1 star. My wife ordered a veal chop @ £19.50 and it was not edible. The waiter asked how our meal was and we told him the veal chop was not edible. (I eat absolutely anything but after chewing this veal chop for 5 minutes I quit) Then he left without any comment and after 15 minutes the manager came. We told him the story and he said we sold so many of those today and noone complained and obviously I told him I dont give a damn how many you sold anyday. He said we are gonna charge you half price for the veal and obviously I told him take it completely and they had to do it. Any ways bad experience and rude and unprofessional staff. If you are in the area there far better places ESPECIALLY TANDIS persian restaurant on Haverstock hill, cheaper and far better than this so called restaurant retsina. AVOID!
We went to Retsina tonight, a group of 6 of us. We ordered a aubergine dip to come with the main meal, but did not ask for pita bread. We were served the pita bread anyway, thinking that it came with the dip anyway, as is sometimes the case at other restaurants. They landed up charging us for the pita bread, and when we asked the waiter/ manager about this they were so rude and basically told us we had to pay for the pita bread because we ate it. They even had the cheek to tell us that, 'You have come to the wrong place'?! I couldn't believe it!!! I've seen others reviews where they talk about the service - and here is yet another review confirming that they are down-right rude. I will not be spending my money here again - you can get the same quality at places where they charge half the price.
