Ardente Opera Company presents an adventurous double bill, pairing 'Handel Furioso' – a piece of music-theatre, created from arias and duets from Handel's greatest operas – with a production of Viktor Ullmann's 'The Emperor of Atlantis', a haunting satire written in the Terezin concentration camp before the composer's deportation to Auschwitz. Two rising stars, Anna Starushkevych (winner of the 2012 Handel Singing Competition) and Robyn Allegra Parton (Kathleen Ferrier Award finalist), appear in the Handel. Max Hoehn's 2011 production of The Emperor of Atlantis returns with a new cast. The director is Max Hoehn.
