Despite big Edinburgh Fringe hits and the success of his Royal Court smash ‘Cyprus Avenue’, scabrous Northern Irish playwright David Ireland remains a somewhat cultish figure in London theatre, with ‘Not Now’ his second play to be presented at Fringe powerhouse the Finborough. Evolving out of a short commission for A Play, A Pie and A Pint at Glasgow’s Òran Mór. It follows grief-stricken Matthew, torn over whether it’s right for him to be flying from Glasgow to London to audition for Rada the morning after his father’s funeral. Max Elton directs a cast of Matthew Blaney and Stephen Kennedy.
