A revival of Jonathan Kent's production of Puccini's melodrama about the feisty diva and her doomed revolutionary lover – a conflict of love and violence within an ill-fated triangle. Martina Serafin sings the title role (Angela Gheorghiu on July 14 & 17), with Marcello Giordani as Cavaradossi (Jonas Kaufmann 14 & 17 July), and Juha Uusitalo as the evil chief of police, Baron Scarpia (Bryn Terfel 14 & 17 July).
