Bone

An exhibition exploring the history and substance of bone, across different ages and cultures. Objects on display include an X-ray of Sigmund Freud's head, a cat skeleton said to ward off evil spirits, a skull-shaped candle made for Marilyn Manson's wedding, an apothecary jar showing the effects of syphilis on bone and Florence Nightingale's pet tortoise Jimmy. As well as the exhibits there will be a programme of performances and demonstrations from an eclectic line-up of biomedical researchers, forensic archaeologists, bone carvers, dancers, historians and artists.
