Matthew Luck Galpin: Anvilled Stars

On display in the Cosmos & Culture and Measuring Time galleries are five mirrored forms created by artist Matthew Luck Galpin. Using the blacksmithing skills of heating, hammering, grinding and polishing, the British artist has created the forms from iron meteorites that fell in Northern Argentina approximately 6,000 years ago – echoing the type of processes involved in the formation of the planets.
