Creating art is just one part of being an artist, and not necessarily the most important part. This series of seminars by the Art Insider looks at all the other parts, the dull but necessary elements that enable you to practice your craft full-time and permanently. Topics covered include the ability to talk about your work; the ability to engage in professional relationships within the arts; a basic understanding of how the art industry works; the range of opportunities available to artists; how to create a workable and realistic schedule of activity and, crucially, how to create income streams and activities to spread over a workable.
