Meet the Italian masters who helped create The House of Peroni Residency

The House of Peroni Residency returns to London from May 19 to July 1, bringing some serious heavy hitters from the worlds of food, drink and design. The theme this year is ‘For the Love of Italy’, and the three big names taking part are showing just what that means to them – from exquisite culinary feasts and creative cocktails to welcoming spaces evoking the seductive northern Italian countryside. Here are Master of Taste Francesco Mazzei, Master of Style Margherita Maccapani Missoni and Master of Mixology Simone Caporale.

Magherita Maccapani Missoni: Master of Style

The Master of Style is Magherita Maccapani Missoni, from the esteemed Italian fashion house Missoni. She’s used her impeccable aesthetic eye and appreciation of the finer things in life to design the multi-room environment that is The House of Peroni Residency. Inspired by northern Italian landscapes and flowers, family gatherings and Italian philosophy, it’s immersive, welcoming, beautiful and exciting – just like Italy.

Francesco Mazzei: Master of Taste

Francesco Mazzei: Master of Taste

This year’s Master of Taste is Francesco Mazzei, chef patron of Mayfair’s Sartoria, and previously of renowned Italian restaurant L’Anima. Francesco’s cooking showcases the flavours and ingredients of southern Italy, with a focus on dishes from his native Calabria. He describes his plates as like ‘mamma cooking with chef’s hands’, which sounds like a combo we're happy to get our teeth into.

Simone Caporale: Master of Mixology

Simone Caporale: Master of Mixology

Returning for a second year as Master of Mixology, Simone Caporale will once again showcase the kind of innovative flair that has made him one of bartending’s international names, and a big hit here last year. Expect cocktails infused with Peroni Nastro Azzurro, bespoke creations paying homage to his Italian homeland, and five deliciously different negronis.
