Klaxon! There’s a brand new festival in town. New arts venue Woolwich Works, is bringing an eclectic line-up to its riverside space for its Woolwich Words & Sounds fest. Over three weeks you’ll find everything from live music, stand-up comedy and spoken word from plenty of brilliant speakers and wordsmiths.
Names such as Jamali Maddix, Fern Brady, Alfie Brown, Jayde Adams and Sindhu Vee will be bringing the belly laughs. Penguin Cafe, Laura Misch, Norman Jay, Sam Lee and Bob Mintzer will be bringing hypnotic sounds, grooves and deep cuts. And Sophia Thakur and Anthony Anaxagorou will be spitting out spoken word. On top of that there’ll also be street food stalls and a pop-up bar in the sunlit courtyard.
