Heads up! We’re working hard to be accurate – but these are unusual times, so please always check before heading out.
I don’t know about you, but when people show me pictures of themselves as kids, I want to scream, swear and shout like the late Dennis Farina. Gimme some celebs as kids, however, and I’m as happy as a pig in a cover eiderdown. This new ITV series does just that. It’s a cheap and cheerful clip-show based solely on early TV appearances from the great and the good when they were young or just younger.
Rob Webb’s the man in a Soho recording booth this time around – providing the linking narration while sneaking in the odd funny here and there. Not that it needs much accompaniment. There’s only one thing going on here, and that’s ‘OMG, look at so-and-so when they were younger’. Sometimes, it’s quite sweet. Pauline Quirke, Will Young and Kate Beckinsale all make for delightful young ’uns. Heaven forbid though you’ll have to experience the mouth-full-of-plums-and-silver-spoons voice of a young Jack Whitehall.
