Tune-up for Artists

Time Out says

Everything from cars to cellos get tuned up once in a while. If you're an artist, come to the Glendale Central Library for your own one-day "tune up" and receive expert advice and information on arts management from the Los Angeles County Arts Commission. The consultants on hand include LACAC staffers and folks from places like the Center for Cultural Innovation, the Actor's Fund and many other successful arts orgs.

Topics will range from "Fundraising for Individual Artists" and "PR for Artists," to "Getting Your Sh*t Together." Small-budget arts organizations can also receive advice on such things as advocacy, fundraising, marketing and understanding healthcare insurance and reform.

The fast-paced, speed-dating-like event will allow participants to rotate around different tables, where experts on specific topics offer 25-minute sessions. A total of five round-robin sessions will take place. Participants are allowed to stay as long or briefly as they like. The event is free, but registration is suggested.
