With Cinco de Mayo around the corner, Plan Check Kitchen + Bar is spicing things up with habanero-infused bites and citrusy cocktails (available at their Fairfax and Sawtelle locations). Their el picante magaritas ($5)—tequila, lime, triple sec and a chili-salt rim—packs heat and tang; tamer palates should opt for the equally satisfying mezcal honey sour. The bar snack offerings are no slouch either, but we recommend the chorizo-heavy taco truck fries: it's a flavor bomb that's awaiting detonation.
