Reason to go: The city’s handsomest taproom

Like a whole lot of Miamians, this brewery is an expat from Cuba. What was once the island's oldest brewery opened a 28,000-square-foot brewery and taproom in February 2021 in Wynwood. The taproom is slick and modern but yet has a nod to the brand’s heritage. The onsite restaurant is helmed by famed chef Cindy Hutson, who serves up a Cuban-inspired menu with tostones, jamon croquetas and a tres quesos pizza. Inside there are murals by well-known artists, and out back you’ll find a 10,000 square-foot botanical tropical garden that itself is worth a trip.

Veza Sur’s Latin-inspired beers have remained a favorite in Wynwood, as have their beer cocktails, an interesting niche they’ve managed to carve for themselves in Miami’s crowded beer scene. Veza Sur’s outdoor patio, which occasionally hosts live music, is a perfect spot to kill an afternoon, and the onsite food truck serving “Chino Peruvian street fare,” ChiFa, means you really don’t have to leave.

Reason to go: Nightly events, like game nights, line dancing, and karaoke

This huge (like really, really big) warehouse is an absolute must-visit location on any day trip to Homestead. It’s on the same property as Schnebly Redland's Winery, has pool tables, rows of picnic tables and a huge projector screen perfect for watching any game. Its outside space is equally vast, yet—despite the size and scale of the whole operation—Miami Brewing still feels like a neighborhood spot.

Reason to go: You’ve been drinking them everywhere else for years

Most respectable bars around town will have a selection from M.I.A. on tap, so it’s about time you head west to Doral to enjoy the taproom. The atmosphere is familial and croquetas, nachos and wings are never far away.

Reason to go: Crazy concoctions you won’t find elsewhere

After opening in 2018, this Doral brewery has gained quite the following thanks to its selection of experimental brews with cheeky, animal-inspired names. The brewery is also home to the BBQ concept Gorilla City, which smokes up Texas-style brisket, sandwiches and cachapa cornbread.

A couple of blocks off the main Wynwood strip of NW Second Avenue awaits a spot that’s been in Wynwood long before most trendy tenants and bills itself as Miami's first craft beer brewery. While the taproom is pretty simplistic, the real selling point is the beer. Wynwood Brewing is known to make some of the best beer in Miami and will certainly please your inner beer geek.

Reason to go: The taproom’s massive murals create a scenic drinking spot

This Wynwood brewery, a loud and proud home for Star Wars fans, has earned a very loyal following with its tasty drinks and one-of-a-kind theme: “the intersection of craft beer and pop culture.” The taproom is a tad cozy but some outdoor space in the front (complete with rotating food truck options) offer some room to breathe.

Reason to go: Finally a taproom with elbow room

The good part about breweries out west is they’re not short on space. And Tank’s 25,000 square foot warehouse offers plenty of room to enjoy its 16 taps of locally-named brews. In addition to the drinks, Tank hosts cigar nights, live music and more. While out on South Beach, check out their second location, Abbey Brewing Co. on 16th Street.

Its sense of humor is certainly reflected in its live music programming, advertised as a time to get “weird at the beard.” But when it comes to the beer, things are seriously delicious.
