Juice bars come in handy after too many late nights binging on wings, truffle fries and Miami’s best drunk food. Luckily, you’ll find no shortage of juice bars in Miami. It’s just one of the latest health trends to find its footing in the 305. Maybe you recognize its cousin, the acai bowl, from one of your trips to find the best acai bowls in Miami. Or maybe the best desserts in Miami is more your speed. Either way, we could all use a nice fresh juice every occasionally, and here’s where you can find the tastiest and freshest in the city.

Though summer is slow, Miami really makes up for it at the end of the year, chucking huge events like III Points and Art Basel our way to make up for lost time. And the second year of Miami’s new House of Creatives Festival fits nicely into that packed schedule, sandwiched between both on November 11 and 12.

In case you haven’t heard, this Year’s HOC (happening at Virginia Key Park) will feature headliners MGMT, Alt-J, Washed Out, Metronomy and more. Just this week, the festival added two more acts its lineup: Venezuela's Rawayana and Miami DJ Richie Hell.

House of Creatives also just released its single-day tickets, available for $75 or $125 if you want to go VIP. To help the single-day buyers, HOC unveiled its day-by-day schedule too, which will see Alt-J perform on Saturday and MGMT wrap things up on Sunday.

We caught up with one of the local acts on the bill, South Florida psych rockers Peyote Coyote, who recently embarked on a Florida tour with Miami’s Deaf Poets.

So will this be the biggest festival you've ever performed at?

Yes. We've done some smaller fests in Miami and West Palm Beach, but this will be the biggest.

How have you seen the South Florida music scene evolve since you started?

We've seen bands and venues come and go, but ultimately it's constantly growing and getting better. More bands are coming through the area on tour, more people are hearing about shows and coming out, and more collaboration is happening between a variety of art forms that has led to a more vibrant, interesting and involved scene.

You recently toured around with another local favorite, Deaf Poets. What was that like? Did hitting up different scenes make you realize anything about the South Florida music scene?

Touring with Deaf Poets was amazing and our favorite tour experience to date. They're great people, awesome musicians and we loved having the opportunity to work together and support each other on the tour. Yeah, South Florida definitely has something special when it comes to the music scene. There's not another place in Florida quite like it.

What can folks expect from your set at HCC? Anything new coming?

We'll be featuring our favorite songs from our first EP and from our newest release, "Other Moons,” which came out in August, as well as some material that has yet to be recorded.

Besides yourselves, who are you most excited to see on the HoC lineup?

MGMT and Washed Out for sure. And we love seeing KIDS and Tremends. They put on great shows.

HOC makes an honest effort to include locals in their lineup. Do you see this trend happening more with big festivals and events in Miami? Or do the locals still get the short end of the stick when these big events roll around?

Yeah, a lot of festivals in the area include at least a few locals. Having your name on the flyer with artists you love and performing on a big stage with stellar sound is a good experience for any band. Locals often get overlooked at a big event like a festival because they play early or at a side stage, which is unfortunate because often times there's a lot of talent there waiting to be discovered.;
