Hello, National Pride Month! June welcomes another opportunity to celebrate our wonderful and vibrant LGBTQ+ community across the country. It’s no different in Miami where the rainbow flag flies high 365 days a year. While the city’s annual Pride festivities typically take place in April, 2021’s Miami Beach Pride is scheduled for September. In the meantime, jump on the rest of the world’s proverbial bandwagon because if there’s anything we learned from lockdown, there’s no time like the present to celebrate and show your Pride.

Singles’ Social: LGBTQ Speed Dating at Time Out Market

Do you need a break from dating apps? Are your digits—and your brain—totally fatigued from all the swiping and scrolling? We get it, and we want to help you meet someone IRL. Rather than an awkward set-up, we’re partnering with Date Nite Miami to give you the chance to pick out your potential love interest from a pool of eligible singles.

You’ll make your way around Time Out Market Miami, striking up conversations with fellow speed daters for 5 minutes or less before moving on to the next person. If your mini date is a dud then it’s on to someone else until you find your match. Your ticket to the speed-dating experience includes a drink plus access to happy hour pricing from 7 to 10pm should you need a little extra liquid courage. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Alliance for GLBTQ Youth. June 16 7–10pm; $15

The fabulous Karla Croqueta hosts the event with music by Keanu Orange and GAMI, plus performances by Lady Paraiso, Dang-Ho Yu Sicknin, Viola Putz and others. June 17 at 8:30pm; free.

Wynwood Pride Festival: Charli XCX Pride at the Oasis

Wynwood Pride continues with an outdoor performance by British singer-songwriter Charli XCX, who was just announced as a headliner in this fall’s female-led music festival All Things Go Music Festival. Miami gets a head start with a full concert and two of the best opening acts: RuPaul’s Drag Race’s iconic Kandy Muse and Miami drag legend Miss Toto. June 18 at 5pm; $70 and up

Dinner in Drag at Cardozo South Beach

The famed Art Deco hotel turns up the nostalgia for a special dinner series celebrating the most fabulous movie ever filmed on-premises, The Birdcage, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The delightful evening takes place in the Cardozo’s intimate VIP room, where you’ll dine on a three-course meal paired with mojitos, wine and beer while watching divas in drag—including our girl Athena Dion—do their thing. Superfans of the film can stick around the VIP area and watch it after dinner. Starting June 1 at various dates and times. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 305-414-1755 or emailing dinnerindrag@cardozosouthbeach.com.

Pride Bar Crawl

Whet your palate for all the drinking and revelry to come this September at a special Pride bar crawl in South Beach. The neighborhood’s most popular watering holes will be participating and tickets are just $25 to enjoy drinks at Bar Gaythering, Palace, Twist and others. Plus, ticket holders will be entered to win a staycation package valued at $1,200. June 16 at 7pm; $25.

Pride Month on Film at PAMM

The Pérez Art Museum Miami screens a selection of films curated by Miami-based artist Thom Wheeler Castillo. Videos play on a loop throughout the day, projecting themes that underscore the LGBTQ+ experience—from camp to love to sorrow. Socially distanced seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. June 24, 2–9pm; free with museum admission.

Wynwood Pride: Miss Wynwood Pride Pageant at R House

Forget the belle of the ball—R House is ready to debut its queen of Wynwood Pride. On Wednesday, a group of esteemed judges will critique and crown 2021’s Miss Wynwood. This year’s pageant winner will receive a grand prize of $500 cash, four performance bookings at R House’s notorious Drag Brunch, a crown and a sash. Entry is just $50 and everyone is invited to come and watch (and, of course, eat!). June 16 at 7pm.

ESCANDALO: A Wynwood Pride Celebration 2021 at R House

How do you top one of Miami’s most famous drag brunches? You make it a nighttime Latin fiesta. R House celebs, including the likes of Athena Dion and Chachita Rubio, bring the heat to this super fun pachanga led by DJ Cesar Hernandez and drummer Angel Emilio. June 19 at 7pm; a la carte dinner and drinks.

CommuniTea Dance at the Arsht Center

The Arsht Center revives its annual LGTBQ+ Pride Month celebration this June, reimagining the fete as an intimate dance party onstage at the Ziff Ballet Opera House. It’s going to be a good time with dance performances of Tang and The Queen of Drag and music by Patrick & The Swayzees, plus DJ Citizen Jane on deck for a vibe check.

When is it? June 26 6:30–9:30pm. Where is it? Ziff Ballet Opera House at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Tickets are $15 online.
