Going out is way more affordable with three hours of parking for just $1

Pinch yourself, Miami. No, you haven’t fainted from the August humidity, this is the real deal. From August 1 through October 31, Miami Beach is offering $1-per-hour parking.
You read that right: parking for just a dollar. In a city where breathing the ocean air normally incurs a $25 valet convenience fee, you can now park your ride for less than the cost of a cafe con leche.

Before you try to abandon your Honda Civic in a South Beach garage until November, however, there are a few rules to this sweet, sweet summer miracle:
Why this amazing gift from the city? Simple: It's slow season, and the more people out and about the better. With Miami Spice offering heavily discounted multi-course dinners and Miami Spa Months practically begging you to get massaged for cheap, the city is making it a lot more attractive to actually leave your air-conditioned living room.
It's easy math. You park for three hours ($3), hit a prix-fixe lunch on Lincoln Road, maybe squeeze in a quick lavender facial and head home having paid less for parking than you would for a gas station water bottle.
So make sure you've got the ParkMobile app, find a municipal parking spot and roll up to Ocean Drive like you own the place. Just make sure to move your car before hour four, or the meter maid will remind you what city you're actually in.
