Fri 8

Miami Marlins 25th Anniversary Weekend

The Miami Marlins celebrate the team’s 25th anniversary with a weekend full of events, giveaways and discounted games. Vista seats will be just $4 Friday through Sunday and each day brings a different a freebie for fans: towels on Saturday, a logo pin on Sunday and more. Keep your eyes peeled for special appearances by former players and other VIPs.

Sat 9

Verano y Humo

Ballet Flamenco La Rosa’s latest show world premieres at the Colony Theater. Inspired by Tennessee Williams’ play Summer and Smoke, the show is packed with intense drama and sultry dancing.

Daybreaker: Blossoms & Bass

It’s a fact that Miamians love a good day party, especially one that lets us get in a workout while we’re at it. Enter the next edition of Daybreaker, Blossoms & Bass, featuring a morning yoga class and a two-hour dance party at 1-800-Lucky. The trendy Wynwood food hall opens its doors early just for event folks to tear it up to music by DJ Nii Tei and refuel on free healthy breakfast and cold-brew coffee. You’ll need to come back after lunch for a real taste of the food hall.

Carpe Diem by Day Snatchers

After stopping in Atlanta and New York, this roving music party takes over Miami with an all-day affair in Downtown. Locals are invited to seize the day, which, in the case of this Day Snatcher-powered event, likely means lots of day drinking and dancing to beats by DJ Nasty, DJ Don Hot and others.

Cider & Mead Festival

Cider isn’t just the thing your beer-snubbing friend drinks when you drag them to a brewery. The fermented boozy beverage, made from apples or other fruit instead of malted barley, is having a moment—so much so Spillover is dedicating an entire afternoon to it. Stop in for free samples of Cigar City Cider, Broski Ciderworks and Green Bench Cider, among others. The Coconut Grove restaurant, known for its wide selection of mead (which is made by fermenting honey and water), also brings out Bar Code Meadery, Accomplice mead and others to taste. Admission to the festival and pours are complimentary.

I'm Gonna Pray for You So Hard

This two-character play takes place during a drug-fueled evening as a competitive young actress contends with her equally pugnacious playwright father. They project insults, bruise egos and skewer the theater establishment in a scabrous dramedy penned by Halley Feiffer, daughter of celebrated cartoonist Jules Feiffer.

Sun 10

Sunny Side Up Pool Party Series

Instead of going home and passing out on your couch after brunch, milk your mimosa buzz longer at Shore Club. The South Beach hotel kicks off its series of Sunday pool parties this week, featuring $30 bottomless mimosas from 2 to 4pm—because, why not?

Cochon 555

The annual swine-eating fest celebrates heritage breed pigs and family farmers and promotes agricultural education and responsibility. This year promises more than 1,500 pounds of heritage-breed pork and dozens of pig dishes by renowned local chefs. Boutique wines, craft cocktails and artisanal brews are on hand to wash it all down. A portion of all sales benefits the charity Piggy Bank’s family farm mission.
