Fri 9

Health & Wellness Weekend Retreat with Brian Mazza

Get a jumpstart on your summer body goals with fitness influencer Brian Mazza, who leads this complimentary, three-day wellness retreat at the Zen South Beach hotel. Sessions take place all day through Sunday and include a variety of workouts, such as beach runs, yoga, stretching and more.

Beethoven on the Beach

Part of a three-part series that does actually include a concert on the beach, this outdoor performance of Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 4 in B Flat Major” features a solo by violinist Richard Fleischman and is conducted by Elaine Rinaldi. The show takes place in the Banyan Bowl and patrons are advised to leave the picnics at home.

Sat 10

Hamburger House Party

Who makes Miami’s best burger? Find out when more than a dozen local restaurants compete for top honors at Burger Beast’s annual showdown. Eat as many hamburgers as is needed to cast an informed vote and wash it down with bottomless desserts and samples of beer and vodka cocktails.

Community Class With Dance Theatre of Harlem

This weekend, do something you’ve never done before: take a class with New York City’s renowned ballet company, Dance Theatre of Harlem. The special session, priced at just $5, covers basic techniques and is open to anyone over the age of 10.

Sun 11

The Puppy Brunch in Downtown Doral

Puppies and brunch: a winning combination. This Sunday, Downtown Doral welcomes dogs and their owners for a day of eating, drinking and pet-friendly fun—like a doggy photo booth and a puppy lounge for tired pooches. The Salty DonutThreefold Cafe and Pinch Kitchen, among others, will be on hand selling egg-y things and lunch fare while Mac’s Mac’s Pubs provides the cocktails and mimosas. Latin funk band Xperimento performs. (Downtown Doral, at 87th Ave and 53rd St)

Calle Ocho Festival

Eight stages with a variety of live performances, drunken revelers in wild getups and all the croquetas and arepas you can stuff into your face… You know what time it is. Jump in the line at the city’s massive street fair, where throngs of people gather every year to celebrate Latin pride. Here’s hoping Pitbull makes an appearance. (SW 8th St between SW 12th and 27th)
