Sad desk lunches still exist even in lockdown. With back-to-back Zoom calls and assignments piling up, there’s little time left to make yourself a proper mid-day meal. But you can always carve out five minutes to dial up your favorite restaurant and order in! Recently, we’ve seen a swell of new takeout and delivery lunch options across the city, from towering deli sandwiches and diner-style eats to elegant bento boxes filled with sushi. Here, a few delicious ways to liven up your afternoon.

SushiSamba

The shuttered Lincoln Road restaurant pops up at Sugarcane in Midtown with a limited menu of its most popular dishes. Order up the signature El Topo roll with crispy onion and melted mozzarella and the miso-marinated Chilean sea bass, among other items. Thu–Sun noon-8pm. Takeout and delivery; use code ‘direct10’ for 10-percent off when you order on the Sugarcane website.

Daily noon–4pm. Takeout (305-864-8600) and delivery via DoorDash.
