For the first time since its inception in 1999, Ultra Music Festival has been canceled and we’re being honest when we say we are very much bummed over this historic development.

Earlier this month, rumors swirled as various city officials, business owners and concerned citizens took to social media to air their thoughts on whether or not the massive annual festival that attracts hundreds of thousands of ravers from across the world to Downtown Miami should still go on in light of the rapidly spreading Coronavirus. Then, Thursday evening, City commissioners confirmed the news to local outlets that Ultra would indeed be postponed indefinitely, heeding an advisory from Florida’s surgeon general.

We’re not knocking the decision—public safety is always the top priority. But what’s a bass hungry house head to do now? For those of us who live for the beat drop, can life really go on? We’re here to remind you that, despite the cancellation of Ultra (and now Winter Music Conference), the rest of Miami Music Week is carrying on as usual, at least for now. That’s right, folks. The beat will drop, over and over and over again. (This is Miami, after all).

Just as in years past, the deluge of parties, concerts and events is a lot to comb through, so we did the work for you. Of course, no Miami Music Week would be complete without hitting up a few of the iconic pool parties, so if you’re in the mood to dance all day under the sun, be sure to check out our roundup of the best Miami Music Week pool parties for 2020.

By night, our list of this year’s can’t-miss Miami Music Week events has you covered. Whether you’re looking for something more intimate (for instance, DJ Harvey all night at ATV Records in Downtown), or a festival vibe more akin to Ultra (we’re looking at you, Dim Mak Miami), there’s still something for every type of dance music fan this year. As always, be sure to stay hydrated, slap on the sunscreen, pace yourself and try to catch some shuteye. Oh, and remember to wash those hands!
