How is the conflict in the Middle East causing travel disruptions?

As per the Government of Canada’s site, the conflict is disrupting global fuel supplies, which could impact transportation and essential services in some destinations, leading to shortages or rationing. Airspace restrictions are also causing flight delays, rerouting and cancellations—sometimes with little notice—while longer routes and reduced availability may drive up travel costs.

Travellers passing through major international hubs, particularly in or near the Middle East, should expect possible disruptions. Check with your airline before departure and return, and be ready to adjust plans on short notice. Travel insurance covering cancellations and interruptions is strongly recommended.
