A boil-water advisory has been issued for one of Montreal’s favourite neighbourhoods.

Residents of the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough have been cautioned to boil their tap water for at least 1 minute before consuming it or using it to brush their teeth.

The alert issued on October 7, 2025, at 4:08 pm also stated that unboiled tap water can be used for personal hygiene or household use.

Why is there a boil water advisory?

The City of Montréal issued a boil-water advisory for Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough due to reduced water pressure.

According to an interactive map, the advisory has been issued for the area to the west of the Autoroute 14, south of Cote-St-Luc Road, east of Harvard and north of Monkland.

The City of Montreal site explains that advisory is in effect until further notice, and as soon as the situation is restored, a new advisory will be issued.
