Where is Montreal's Gay Village?

Montreal is one of the world's leading LGBTQ+ destinations, home to some of Canada's best queer nightlife. From legendary gay bars in the historic Gay Village to inclusive clubs, rooftop terrasses, drag shows, karaoke nights, and queer-friendly hangouts across the city, there's something for every kind of night out.

While the heart of Montreal's LGBTQ+ scene is its iconic Gay Village—one of the largest in North America—the city's welcoming, inclusive spirit extends well beyond Saint-Catherine Street, with LGBTQ+ events and venues thriving year-round. In 2026, the Village marks the 20th anniversary of its one-kilometre-long summer pedestrian mall, transforming the neighbourhood into a lively open-air destination complete with around 40 terrasses.
