Grab your skates: Montreal has a free roller disco all fall.
Whether you’re a seasoned skater or still figuring out how to stay upright, everyone is invited to lace up and roll to disco, funk, soul and other retro favourites.
We’re talking about disco balls, colourful decorations, vibrant lighting by Bruno Rafie, music and original video projections—picture a lively outdoor dance floor inspired by the iconic roller rinks of the disco era, right in the heart of Quartier des Spectacles.

Ready to roll? Rally your friends and head to Esplanade Tranquille located in the heart of Downtown Montreal—just a few blocks from Time Out Market Montréal and the Montreal Eaton Centre—for a free dose of disco this fall. Whether you’re there to learn, dance, show off your moves or simply soak up the atmosphere,
Don’t have your own skates? No problem. You can rent roller skates and safety equipment on-site and join the fun.
Where is the best roller-skating in Montreal?
Tranquille à roulettes is turning Esplanade Tranquille into a free open-air roller disco from September 5 to October 25, 2026.
From 7 to 11 p.m., Esplanade Tranquille will channel the golden age of roller discos, with skaters of all ages invited to dress in their favourite retro looks and hit the dance floor.

Throughout the fall there will be a full lineup of free skating activities.
Every Friday evening from 7 to 10 p.m. (except September 25), the Patins Platines series brings local DJs to the dance floor. The lineup includes Arielle Roberge, Bolarinho, Ruby Jane, Cidoine, Groove Galore (French Vanilia + AP BABY) and DJ BlackGold.
New to roller skating? Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon and Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m., instructors from Montreal roller-skate shop Lowlife will lead introductory lessons, helping beginners find their feet while more experienced skaters sharpen their moves.
On Saturday, October 3, the Brigade littéraire from Le Fil will also bring an original artistic performance to the rink—on roller skates, naturally.

Monday to Wednesday: 4 to 10 p.m.
Thursday: noon to 10 p.m.
Friday: noon to 11 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
September 6: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
September 7: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
October 11: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
October 12: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Closed September 24 to 28, inclusive.
