An Aufguss ritual is a sauna ceremony where essential oil-infused water is poured onto hot stones creating aromatic steam.
Choreographed towel waves are then used to circulate intense heat and scents, offering a multi-sensory, immersive experience of relaxation and detoxification —often in cycles using music and cold plunges afterward.
At Bota Bota new expanded spa, expect immersive sensory rituals combining essential oils, music, and choreographed towel movements.
The water circuit will also be enriched with multiple cold plunges, an outdoor hot tub on the terrace, and an indoor whirlpool offering a multisensory environment of light, sound, and greenery — all set against striking views of Montreal’s iconic landmarks.
Thoughtful attention has also been given to comfort and inclusivity, with the addition of modern changing facilities, including a fully accessible, gender-neutral locker room.
Moored in the Old Port, Bota Bota, spa-sur-l’eau offers guests the restorative benefits of a thermal spa, gently rocked by the natural rhythms of the St. Lawrence River.
Framed by the historic charm of Old Montreal, this floating oasis delivers an experience that is unmistakably unique.
