If you’re planning a proposal to the love of your life, chances are you’re trying to pin down a spot which is bursting with beauty – but that’s far from the only thing you should be considering.
Engagement ring specialists Angelic Diamonds have developed a ‘perfect proposal destination index’ which analyses everything from the price of a bottle of wine and a three-course meal to the percentage of romantic restaurants, hotels, and the annual hours of sunlight, and 80 destinations were assessed.
Each one was given an overall score out of 100, and topping the list was Imerovigli, Santorini’s famous village, which scored 88.04 overall. A whopping 63 percent of restaurants in the area qualify as romantic, according to the study, and a bottle of wine costs just £4.22 – and then there’s those stunning views of the Mediterranean.
In second place? That goes to Cappadocia, a scenic region in central Türkiye known for its towering rock formations (or ‘fairy chimneys’) and hot air balloon rides, which scored 85.51.
Third place went to Zanzibar City, which scored 75.56, and the top five were rounded out by Marrakech and Venice. To read more about the study, do so here, or check out the full top 10 below.
