Judging from the list of artists in this show—George Bellows, Stuart Davis, Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe, Charles Sheeler, Alfred Stieglitz and Andrew Wyeth, among many others—viewers might be forgiven for thinking they've wandered into the Whitney. But no, this is indeed MoMA, which counted a painting by Hopper as one of its first pieces when it opened in 1929. In any case, the works here are second to none, and include Hopper's brooding, magisterial House by the Railroad from 1925.
