Time Out says

The monarch in question here is the Qianlong Emperor, who ruled China from 1736 to 1795—the subject also of the Met's concurrent exhibition, "The Emperor's Private Paradise: Treasures from the Forbidden City." In "Commemorating His Majesty," the emperor's considerable appetite for painting and calligraphy is displayed in an installation featuring imperially commissioned works.
