Robert Janitz, "Stick Shift Heaven"

The German painter's abstract waterfalls of brushmarks are created by applying broad strokes of light-colored oils mixed with wax onto dark backgrounds. The results are vigorous but not overpowering, especially when paired with potted plant sculptures made with thin-gauge sheaths of steel.
