Reflections on exile and asylum inform the work of this L.A. artist and writer, a native of Tehran born during the protracted and vicious conflict between Iran and Iraq, which raged from 1980 to 1988 at an estimated cost of one million casualties. This series presents videos dating from 2010 to the present, and include meditations on the impact of the war on her generation of Iranians, along with other subjects like the mock-Middle Eastern village in the California desert that is used to train American military personal deploying to Iraq.
