Books For NYC Schools

This all-day event has a goal: to collect 5,000 books for the city’s public school system. Elizabeth Gilbert, Rick Moody, Jamaica Kincaid, Rene Steinke, Rob Sheffield, Sam Lipsyte, Ron Nixon, Darcey Steinke, Kurt Andersen and others will discuss their work and various topics (the 2:30pm talk, “Money Stories,” will feature Adam Haslett, Jonathan Dee, Martha McPhee and Hugo Lindgren). Bring the kids: Children’s authors such as Bob Morris will read their work. To attend, please bring two new or gently used books for readers between the ages of 4 and 18.
