Time Out says

With Henry Ward Beecher, the brother of abolitionist Harriet Beecher Stowe, as its first preacher in 1847, Plymouth Church of the Pilgrims soon became known as Grand Central Depot in the chain of safe havens for fleeing slaves. Celebrate that legacy today at the city’s first Underground Railroad Festival, where you can tour the church’s hiding spots, watch the musical play Singin Wid a Sword in Ma Han: An Underground Railroad Love Story, and hear a keynote address from founders of the Underground Railroad History Project of the Capital Region of New York, among other activities.
