The Dance Enthusiast, a website that offers behind-the-scene videos featuring choreographers and dancers, hosts its first offline event: "Dance & Fashion" celebrates the mingling of the forms with a performance by the Martha Graham Dance Company, a discussion and food prepared by chef Rodney Brown. Speakers are Janet Eilber, artistic director of the Graham company; Reid Bartelme, a dancer and costume designer who has worked with Justin Peck, Lar Lubovitch and more; and Valerie Steele, director and chief curator of the museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The performance features Lamentation, as well as excerpts from Appalachian Spring and Cave of the Heart. Expect more in 2015: Future events masterminded by Christine Jowers, founder of the Dance Enthusiast, include "Dance as Empowering and Healing" on April 7 featuring film producer Lucija Stojevic, who will show excerpts from her documentary Dancing with Closed Eyes about the flamenco dancer Antonia Santiago Amador, also known as La Chana.

"Dance & Fashion," held at Gibney Dance: Agnes Varis Performing Arts Center, is Nov 12 at 6:15pm; $30 tickets can be purchased here
