In one of the most ambitious and wide-ranging events of the ongoing, citywide Zorn@60 celebration, John Zorn rounds up a few dozen of his closest musical friends—avant-rock singer Mike Patton, free-jazz percussionist Milford Graves and a slew of top chamber players among them—for an all-day Met Museum occupation. From a trumpet fanfare at 10am to an organ improvisation by Zorn himself at 8pm, you'll witness myriad aspects of one of New York's most fertile minds, surrounded by some of the visual art that fired it.
