Treehouse: James Friedman

Climb on up to Brooklyn’s Treehouse, a party that encourages DJs to deviate from their usual bailiwick (whether or not they do kind of depends on the spinner’s mood). This month's get-together, held at Greenpoint's Coco66—or more precisely, its next-door adjunct, the 68 space—stars James Friedman, the ruler of the Throne of Blood label who doubles as an excellent DJ. Throne of Blood looks like its revving things up for 2011, with the great Acid Reflux EP from Ulysses already out, and hotties from Ford Inc. (Paul Woolford and Mat Playford) and Bicep on the way; expect to hear more than a few unreleased future hits in the set.
