Bill Goffrier, who was a member of the Embarrassment and Big Dipper, punk bands beloved by a small but ardent fan base, plays under his own name. Also up is Robert Pollard collaborator Doug Gillard, an able indie-popsmith whose bittersweet, nimbly wordy work draws on the likes of Elvis Costello.
